Being A CITY ON THE HILL through the Angel Tree

CITY ON THE HILL church is participating in the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree Ministry! You can help families impacted by incarceration find a path of hope, reconnect, and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with them—through becoming an Angel Tree Christmas Volunteer or Donor! Angel Tree helps children know that they and their families are not forgotten—impacting generations to come with the love of Christ.

Here’s how it works:

  • A mom or dad in prison signs up their child for Angel Tree Christmas.
  • We buy a gift selected specially for the child by the incarcerated parent.
  • We deliver the gift in the parent’s name—along with a personal message from Mom or Dad and the Gospel.
  • Angel Tree kids can also participate in one-day Christian STEM and sports camps, in the future, at little to no cost through Prison Fellowship scholarships.

How You Can Help

You can help us provide Angel Tree gifts to families by helping in one (or more) of a few ways: caregiver contact member, gift management volunteer, Angel Tree gift purchaser, gift distribution volunteer, or being a child sponsor.

• Caregiver contacts help the coordinator (Pastor Faith) call or text the parents or guardians to confirm participation and gift requests. They will stay in touch with families through the Christmas season and beyond.

• Gift management volunteers do a variety of roles to help the coordinator manage tag checkout, gift check-in, and gift preparation (including wrapping and sorting for distribution).

• A gift purchaser helps shop for item(s) on each child’s wishlist, following the cap set on each gift.

• A gift distribution volunteer helps the coordinator host a special Angel Tree Christmas event or deliver gifts to the homes.

• An Angel Tree child sponsor makes or collects monetary donations to help cover the cost of gifts and any related expenses.
